Ryan Mulcahy
Ryan grew up in the small town of Towanda, Pennsylvania. He is technically a second generation “dogman” as his father has been running and working hounds for 65 years. “We always had dogs. Dad ran the coon hunters club for many years. My Great Grandfather had hunting dogs, my uncles did as well. We just grew up in it.”
Ryan’s parents and older brother insisted on him getting a college education and encouraged his passion for running and coaching. After graduation he moved to Arizona. “When I moved to flagstaff I was itching to get my own bird dog. At the time I wanted a shorthair, then I went to a kennel with Pointers… It was an easy decision from there.” Jim Schultz and Kim Sampson became mentors and the pursuit of bird dogs has continued to build year after year.
Jessica Vandenbush
Jess is a newcomer to the team. She is used to spending lots of time in the country from her endurance athlete background. Over this past year she made trips to Montana, South Texas, and Idaho. She brings great enthusiasm and care for each member of the operation. She was instrumental with the delivery and care of the recent litter and constantly is learning from the dogs and birds. Look for her to be handling many of the youngsters in the future.

Roo now retired, is the oldest dog on our string. He boasts some of the oldest living Elhew blood. He has taught many lessons in his development and has proven to rise above his handler’s mistakes. His ability to get around game in an efficient manner is something we are striving to keep around. Stemming from what we are told is from his CH Silver Strike lineage.
He physically has maintained well in his 10 years of service and we plan to use him in a few more breedings in the future. So far, his pups have all been bird dogs and like him, they are making big jumps at the year old mark.

Sage is the first pup we acquired from Frank and Jean LaNasa. She is sired by many time Champion True Confidence and her dam is 3xCH Lil Miss Sunshine. Sage was eye opening! Watching her develop at a very young age, pointing, knocking and chasing on Sage Grouse in Wyoming at 4months. She has helped dozens of young dogs and puppies gain contact with wild birds. On the Mariposa Ranch, she pointed 8 coveys in a single day while being rested a majority of the afternoon hunt. It was truly a performance day to remember. Although we were never able to successfully get her bred, she has remained a standard in our team.

Brooke was the 2nd dog acquired from the LaNasas. She’s a leggy female with a strong core and aggressive ability to get herself around game. Shes attractive moving through the country and pointed.

Buddy was bred by Frank LaNasa. He is a very talented and enjoyable animal to run and handle. He has been bred twice and has produced some very capable animals that are easy to work with and start early. He is a “go-to” dog on the string in South Texas. Consistently producing 5 covey days and coming up with coveys when other dogs aren’t producing. He is well proportioned with a kind demeanor.
